SST associates more than 80% of manufacturers of machine tools and forming machines and related branches from the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. The principal aim of SST is rendering of technical, commercial, marketing and other services to its members. SST is a co-organizer of the MSV and IMT Fairs in Brno. SST has been a member of the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries (CECIMO) since 1996.
