Event details

The International Textile and Creative Exhibition Brno Patchwork Meeting is the largest showcase of combined textile techniques not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Central and Eastern Europe. The exhibition is regularly attended by leading authors of artistic wall quilts and patchwork. Thanks to the high number of exhibits and the attendance of thousands of visitors, the exhibition ranks 4rd in Europe and its level is increasing year by year.

Each year it presents 700 pieces of mostly wall quilts (modern tapestries) by more than 300 artists from all over the world and a selection of works by Czech artists.

In the sales section, specialized shops are presented, offering a wide selection of fabrics, sewing machines, tools, textile accessories, lighting, beads, decorations and textile paints, an assortment of knitting yarns and author's clothing. The event is the ideal place to choose, try and compare not only sewing machines. So take advantage of this opportunity to consult the experts.

Throughout the fair, courses in various techniques for beginners and advanced students are held under the guidance of renowned domestic and foreign textile lecturers. You can try out different patchwork and quilt techniques, as well as the popular macramé course or sew children's clothes.

Every year, there are also competitions for quilts in three categories.

As part of the 17th BPM in 2025, a competition will be held on the themes IN THE CIRCLE and FOUR PATCH, where the quilts entered will be judged by an expert jury. The third category is the visitor competition: the general category CZECH AND INTERNATIONAL QUILT, which will be judged by visitors.

In the upcoming edition, you can also look forward to a collection of quilts called Silk Garden, which will be sewn from fabrics made by the Czech company Hedva. It will then travel to other exhibitions. Don't miss the chance to see this unique work, which will have its premiere here.

Every year the BPM exhibition is also linked to charity. In 2024, members of the Bohemia Patchwork Club donated 50 autumn-themed cushions to St. Elizabeth's Hospice directly at the exhibition. At the same time, other textile products donated by visitors to the exhibition were also given to make life more pleasant for the clients of the hospice. In addition, the Debra Charity Bazaar was held for the first time, organised by Corpus Delicious, with the proceeds of 23,050 CZK going to the Debra organisation.

The artistic director of the exhibition is Mrs. Jana Štěrbová, whose creation of modern wall quilts is known not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. She is a member of BPK, SAQA, Patchwork Gilde Deutschland.
