Besides looking after the needs of the automotive industry, iwis is a major supplier of precision roller chains to the mechanical engineering and plant construction industry worldwide. Our chains are used in applications in the printing, paper and packaging industry, conveyor technology, general mechanical engineering and agricultural machinery industry. The family-run company, which founded in 1916, is currently managed by Johannes Winklhofer, who belongs to the fourth generation of the founding family. iwis employs more than 2,000 people worldwide. In addition to its production sites in Germany (Munich, Landsberg, Wilnsdorf, Sontra, Neugablonz and Rieden), iwis also has manufacturing locations in the Czech Republic, China and the USA. The company also maintains subsidiaries in various countries in Europe and beyond, such as Brazil, England, France, Indian, Italy, Canada, Korea, Switzerland, Singapore and South Africa. iwis is present at a total of 45 locations worldwide.
