DIGITAL FACTORY: KALEIDOSCOPE

The exhibition of the Ministry of Industry and Trade exhibits an interactive sculpture titled “Kaleidoscope”, created on a 3D printer and made of recycled PET material. The sculpture cannot be understood from afar and from the outside, its secret is hidden inside, where particles move through the air flow. Inside the kaleidoscope, it is possible to observe strange patterns that repeat indefinitely in variations. Light and lenses “recycle” the embedded design in the same way as physical material is recycled and, as in the digital world, “digital processes” are recycled.

EFFICIENCY OF COOPERATION BETWEEN VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS AND COMPANIES IN THE POWER GENERATION SECTOR – SOCIAL DIALOGUE

Close cooperation of vocational schools and companies in the power generation sector, resp. in the structure of the Czech Employers' Association has its strong roots in activities that began in the 1990’s. It was based on a system of joint final examinations, creation of workshop manuals, a show of professional skills, evaluation of the best pupils of the member schools and the involvement of experts from power generation companies in final examinations. Current conditions of professional development in the energy sector require deepening of his cooperation, especially in extending the possibility of practical training in employers' workplaces. The workshop will provide examples of good practice in this area. It will also focus on supporting this system in the areas of staff, material and financial security. Part of the workshop will focus on current issues of Czech education: final exams, reform of regional education funding, "dual system", the position of teaching staff.

RTX64 AND KINGSTAR, POSSIBILITIES FOR IMPLEMENTING REAL-TIME APPLICATIONS

Using KINGSTAR complete motion control software with a machine vision platform creates IPC-based machine controllers into drivers with world-class precision and performance. The built-in EtherCAT standard, enhanced with the power of a real-time operating system (RTOS for Windows) allows you to use a simple industrial computer to quickly and cost effectively provide pure software motion control and automation of machine vision. To respond quickly to changing market demands, the KINGSTAR framework includes pre-integrated and tested motion controls with exceptional performance, scalability and low cost. If you need to replace a standard PLC by a soft PLC EtherCAT bus or add a new servo driver, machine vision, motion control or real time operating system (RTOS) for time-accurate processing, the platform-oriented approach makes it fast, simple and cost-effective, using best practices. RTX64 is a key component of the RTOS platform by IntervalZero that delivers technology and Windows user experience to developers along with fixed real-time features in an isolated and controlled subsystem so that all system components can be built in a single standard development environment (e.g. MS Visual Studio).

INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR OPTIMIZING VALUE FLOWS AND PRODUCTION PLANNING

Production order planning is undoubtedly one of the most complex processes during production management.
The right decision of the planner can influence the production goals - order fulfilment dates, volume, quality and efficiency of production and other order parameters. We will offer you a new perspective on changing the approach to production planning using a modern software tool. While traditional planning software offers solutions for stable and familiar manufacturing conditions, the new application allows you to easily and comfortably provide a number of specific responses to “sudden” changes in production processes. With a software application, you can roughly plan your production batches and thanks to the unmatched response speed you see the immediate effect of your intervention in the production process. Take advantage of the unique opportunity to become familiar with an effective tool to provide support in selecting the most appropriate intervention in running production.

PANEL DISCUSSION WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF V4 INVESTMENT AGENCIES

Skilled workforce is a prerequisite for the successful progress and development of industry throughout the region. This is also closely related to the interconnection of companies and research, as well as the training of students for rapidly evolving market demands. Investment agencies throughout the region have so far played an important role in promoting business; however, they also face the challenges and new demands of companies that result from the digitization of production. It is therefore necessary to respond quickly to these changes.

Under the Czech Presidency of the Visegrad Group, CzechInvest organizes a public panel discussion, attended by representatives of investment agencies from the Czech Republic (CzechInvest), Slovakia (SARIO), Hungary (HIPA) and Poland (PAIH). The aim of the discussion is to introduce the aims of investment agencies and planned or existing forms of support for investment projects. The programme is designed primarily for the general business community, public administration representatives, the professional public and journalists.

The topic of the discussion corresponds with this year's focus of the International Engineering Fair: the core theme, Industry 4.0, focuses on the digitization of production and the challenges involved.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN, INNOVATIVE MATERIALS AND THEIR USE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Do you wonder what materials are sustainable? Do you want to reduce the footprint that your product manufacturing leaves in the environment? Are you interested in material and technological innovations that can turn waste into valuable resources?

First, we will briefly outline the basic framework of environmental impacts of production and then, using examples of specific innovative materials and technologies, we will point out the possibilities how to reduce these impacts using the principles of circular economy. We know that the way to success consists of several aspects, which naturally include the right timing, a well-chosen product, a good price calculation and production. However, the quality of the raw material and its processing plays an important role.

Evidence of the unsustainability of the current overloaded model continues to grow, and it is no longer possible to close one’s eyes. The seminar, focused on sustainability and principles of circular economy, is a promising concept that could provide a way out of this situation. The seminar is intended primarily for designers, manufacturers and other creative people whose involvement in the transition to the circular economy is crucial as they can greatly influence the form of products and thus improve their internationalization.

The seminar is financed by the CzechTrade project “Design for Competitiveness”, which uses the resources of the OP EIC, the Marketing Support Programme, and is intended only for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) according to Annex 1 to Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 , whose activity is demonstrably associated with production and services carried out outside Prague NUTS 2.

This event is prepared in cooperation with matériO Prague. The international matériO material library network has been operating since 2000, when it was established as an independent information and education centre focused on innovative materials. Their branches currently based in Prague, Paris, Brussels, Shanghai and Seoul share extensive material know-how in the form of an online database with over 8300 materials. The Prague branch, matériO Prague, operated by Happy Materials s.r.o., focuses on teaching activities in the field of innovative materials, related technologies and also serves as a platform linking creative disciplines with science, research and the material manufacturers themselves.
